Hi All,

I can't believe it's been nearly a month since the builders were thrashing around in my garden trying to return their diggers and dumpers to the upright position for which they are designed. Said machinery has gone back to the hire company, somewhat the worse for wear. That poor dumper truck needed a serious overhaul - it had it's own smoke screen everywhere it went after it fell over.

This weekend we had a bigger digger and a tipper LORRY parked in the back garden. Well, there is room now the garage has gone and the shed moved!

How our little coaltit family have put up with all the changing scenery and the noise I don't know, but they have. They have re-nested in the concrete blocks and now have their second brood of the season. The parents whizz in and out so fast I have no chance of getting a photograph. The babies are very vocal now, any noise outside triggers a little chorus of voices from within the blocks. IT'S SO CUTE

They may have to put up with a cement lorry filling the trenches in again tomorrow if all goes to plan. At least I'll be able to get back to the top half of the garden again without fear of falling into a huge hole!!!

So long as they don't back the lorry into the hole I'll be happy

Update; No cement lorry in the hole, just a half demolished hedge. We told them NOT to bring the lorry up the drive - but did they listen? NO
At least they dumper trucked the other four lorry loads up the side of the house.
I really hope the drains are OK!! No point in worrying now tho'.

Ah well - birdies still busy feeding.
